Specifications

The Freestyle2 keyboard has a unique, ergonomic split design. It features a zero-degree slope which minimizes the height, effectively creating a negative slope and reducing wrist extension. The split design can accommodate a wide range of users and caters to individual needs ranging from a narrow footprint to complete separation. This design greatly reduces and or/eliminates ulnar deviation of the forearm. It can be used in conjunction with several accessory kits (sold separately).

The Kinesis Freestyle2 keyboard boasts a sleek, low-profile design with a zero-degree slope, providing a more ergonomic typing experience. Unlike most keyboards, including ergonomic models, the Freestyle2 minimizes height, creating a negative slope that reduces wrist extension. The slim design makes it a versatile 2-in-1 office and travel keyboard.

Warranty: All Kinesis manufactured products come with a two-year limited warranty for the original purchaser.

The Kinesis Freestyle2 keyboard is a result of Kinesis' expertise in creating premium, ergonomically effective keyboards, making it a popular and award-winning choice.

  • Zero-Degree Slope:
The Freestyle2 features a zero-degree slope, minimizing height and effectively creating a negative slope to reduce wrist extension. This design improves comfort and typing posture.
  • Individualized Configuration:
The keyboard accommodates a wide range of individuals, from small to tall and various body types. The two modules are initially connected by a flexible pivot tether, allowing an infinite range of splay. Disconnecting the tether enables up to 9 inches of separation, catering to individual preferences.
  • Optional Palm Supports:
Optional padded palm supports are available to reduce wrist extension and maintain neutral wrist positions, enhancing overall comfort during extended typing sessions.
  • Driverless Hot Keys:
Driverless hot keys for common mouse actions are included, providing quick access to functions such as Internet Page Forward and Back, Undo, Web Home, Cut, Copy, and Paste. Tactile notification is provided for certain hot keys.
  • Familiar Key Layout:
The keyboard retains a familiar key layout, minimizing adaptation time for users. International versions are also available in French, German, Spanish, Swedish, and UK layouts.
  • Low-Force, Tactile Key Switches:
Utilizing quiet, low-force, tactile membrane key switches, the Freestyle2 ensures a comfortable typing experience. The average maximum key force is 45 grams, significantly less than traditional keyboards.
  • Preassembled VIP3 and V3 Versions:
For added convenience, the Freestyle2 can be purchased with either the VIP3 or V3 accessory pre-installed. This includes the VIP3 (KB820HMB-us) or V3 (KB830HMB-us) options for separation of 9" and under.
  • Risk Factor Mitigation:
The Freestyle2 addresses the four major keyboarding risk factors, making it an effective solution for ergonomic typing.
